Looking for various exercises to do on a \~40-day WF; I thought Turkish get-ups would be a nice addition since they have very little eccentric or concentric loading and consist mostly of neural training and mind-body activation stuff.
Question is -- does the relaxed blood pressure and it's effect on balance when quickly standing up make this as dumb of an idea as it sounds like?
I'm sold that it's pretty sound from a pure exercise standpoint, the only question is about the whole possible face-plant thing.
(Only looking for answers from who actually speak from some kind of relevant experience here and are in generally good health / exercise status to being with, thank you.)
Answer
I’ve done a few extended fasts. If you wanna exercise while doing so, make sure you get electrolytes or else you are not gonna be able to get up the next day.
Quite literally
Your muscles are gonna want the electrolytes, you’ll wake up PAINFULLY sore and cramps.
You’ll have low blood pressure as well, you’ll have what’s called Ortho static hypotension. You’ll feel light headed trying to get out of bed.
Don’t just hydrate, get your electrolytes.
