I feel like eating this way has changed my taste buds. Stuff I used to love like pizza now is so disappointing. Bite after bite of monoflavor mostly bread. I’m much more open to try new things - even things I tried in the past and didn’t like. For the most part, fresh healthy foods like especially fresh fruits and veggies taste amazing. Vinegary sauces. Cheese.
I think you learn to love food in a whole different way with IF (I do OMAD).
I would like to get into IF but I don’t know how to start, what exactly is 16:8? Is it a set window of time that you can eat? And do you do a calorie deficit or eat the recommended amount for your weight/height?
Yay! That is a great realization to arrive at, and it is the same for me. I enjoy my meals and appreciate them so much more now. Also it is very efficient. All the time I save not meal planning, cooking, doing dishes, really adds up. I’m also doing it for health issues so that is the main reason but I think that there are many benefits to IF and I hope to do it for a very very long time. Even if I have to stop I don’t see myself going back to 3 meals a day ever. Probably 2 daily at the max.
I did OMAD for 3 months and now, over a year later, even iceberg lettuce has such much flavor to me.
I can pick out so many flavors in my black coffee and even water has a slight sweetness to it now.
Before everything tastes so bland. The downside now it’s that my sensitivity to processed food has increased greatly. I try to avoid it anyway, but when I do come across any, it’s not a pleasant experience.
