Uti while dry fasting

I love dry fasting. It clears my skin, reduces inflammation, whitens my teeth, eliminates any joint pain. I’ve tended to do alternate day dry fasting in 2 week blocks. However, I’m pretty sure that it gives me a uti every time. I’m desperate to fast ASAP, but slightly nervous about the gaining a uti and having to take antibiotics. Not quite sure what I’m asking here… am I being irrational? Do any of you suffer with utis when dry fasting? The very first time I did this fasting schedule I also changed from shower gel to bar soap. Was it more likely to have been that that caused it? I can’t stand water fasting, so that’s not an option. Thanks

Are you sure you are getting a UTI? I mean, are you sure it is an actual bacterial infection? Dry fasting can make urination burn a little partway into the fast. That always fades as the fast progresses a little longer or shortly after breaking the fast. It feels like a symptom of a UTI, but there is no bacterial infection. It happens to me every time, but I never have symptoms after the fast like I would expect if I had a bacterial infection.

I had a nasty UTI that came about after I had done about a month of alternate day dry fasting. I am sexually active with my wife. She has had plenty of them, and by the time I told her mine was coming on, she told me she had just gotten over a minor infection. “They” claim you can’t pass them to your partner “technically”, but I am here to say you sure as hell can. I believe, because I was ultimately dehydrated, the lack of consistent urination helped it to manifest its self, which is supposedly relatively rare for a male. It was a HORRIBLE learning experience that left me full of empathy regarding the countless UTIs my wife has had, and rather afraid to continue with dry fasting while being sexually active.

You could try drinking baking soda water beforehand. It alkalinizes your kidneys which link to your urinary tract.

Alternatively, I have a trick that clears up yeast in that area every time.

EDIT: this will only work if you’re a chick LOL. You could still try coconut oil topically for relief on man parts tho! :)

I pour coconut oil into a small dish and then place an open extra absorbent tampon into it. Then I place it in the freezer for a bit so that it becomes solid.

It will melt pretty quickly once you take it out so I’d make sure you’re ready for bed and wear a pad that night. I also put down a towel just to be sure.

Once you put the coconut oil tampon in, lay down immediately and maybe even tilt your hips up a bit to encourage the coconut oil inside of you. Once you fall asleep the tampon will absorb all of the coconut oil, along with all the yeast that it kills.

In the morning when you pull it out you will be surprised what comes out! I now do this everytime I start to feel a yeast infection coming on and it stops it everytime. I haven’t had a full blown UTI or worse since!

It feels amazing and is an instant relief from yeast issues.

You can also just put some coconut oil in that area for relief, though without anything to soak it up, the yeast that it kills will sometimes ball up into tiny little pieces. No big deal, but could be embarrassing if your partner found one!

Piss in a white cup and you will see that you are passing sand / stones.
If the urine is brownish, it’s another sign.
I though all my life I had these and during some 5 days hard dry I always felt an infection.
I was told to pee in a white styro cup and I had my answer.

Do you break on bicarb? Your urine will be very acidic when dehydrated and especially if on ketosis and detoxing. When you break the dry fast I’d get a good 4 litres with 2 teaspoons of bicarb over a few hours untill you piss clear, then eat a fee hours later/fresh water - back on your dry fast

If its like what happens to me I am not sure its a UTI. ANYTIME i dry fast when i get close to the 24 hour mark i start to get this constant dull burning sensation right in that area. Sometimes it goes away. Sometimes it does not and i have to drink. When i do drink its gone like magic.

I get them but I’m not sure it’s an actual UTI. For me it just feels like my bladder is very inflamed but it can get pretty bad and border on the discomfort/irritation/pain of a UTI. It’s happened enough times for me to know that it’s directly related to fasting. I also do all the things you’re supposed to to alkalise the liver etc. It happens on a small scale wet fasting but it’s way worse for me dry fasting and gets progressively worse the longer I go.
