Wardrobe Emergency NSV(?)

M43 SW:240 CW: 188 GW 180ish I work in a fully remote/distributed company, but I travel somewhat regularly to client sites and to collaborate with my team. I’ve lost weight rapidly over the past four months with IF, cutting out most alcohol, and introducing regular exercise. I’ve built significant (for me) muscle as well. This evening, I was packing for a business trip when it occurred to me I should try on my work attire to ensure it still fit. My pants were falling off and looked ridiculous and all bunched up with a belt. My shirts were like tents. No worries, I thought, I’ll go pull out some of my old business clothes in storage from my skinny days in years past. That’s when I had my oh crap moment. My old clothes, a size or two smaller than current, were still huge. I looked like a kid dressing up in dad’s clothes. I had 90 minutes to get to a department store before closing to buy all new business attire. I have an early morning flight tomorrow. Oh crap. I raced out of the house and made my way into town (I’m in the middle of nowhere). Pull into Kohls with 50 minutes until closing. The store looked like year 4 following the zombie apocalypse. A total of two employees and one other customer in the store. Clothes racks and shelves a mess everywhere. I had to dig through piles of pants desperate to find a 34” waist. Finally find some pants and shirts to try on just to learn that the men’s fitting room is out of order. An employee informs me that “trust me, you don’t want to go in there. Someone did some real damage in there. Hazmat stuff”. I’m escorted into the women’s fitting room. The size 34s fit almost perfect, perhaps a tiny loose. The size 32s are very snug but passable, and will be perfect after dropping another 10-15 pounds. I buy the 34s, knowing I’ll be back to downsize again. The lights go out and the doors are locked behind me. I will not look like a clown that can’t dress himself in this trip. Moral of the story - get your newfound skinny ass to the store to buy new clothes well in advance of your next business trip!

Answer

I must be really tired because I read that as “I work in a remote disturbed company” then I became invested in the story, as my company is also somewhat disturbed…. Glad I read through it because that’s amazing!
