Answer

Oh thank goodness, I checked to see if there was a xxfasting! I’ve been reading the IF sub for about a month. 5”5” Started 233, currently 217 first goal 185. I started the start of September doing 14/10, and but have gradually moved to 16/8 this week. I’m down 15 lbs so far this month but I know that a huge amount of that was water weight as right before I began fasting my diet was as bad as it gets. Foodwise I’m mostly keto (20 - 50 carbs a day) with the occasional leap into 100 carb days on weekends.

Next weekend will be my 28 day weigh-in and I’m already over-the-moon with fasting. I’m full of energy, drinking less coffee and eating far less food. Giving up evening snacktime had been hard and making breakfast for husband and kids while I’m still fasting can be irritating but when I do eat the food tastes SO GOOD! I’m happier really enjoying every meal than feeling like I was constantly snacking but never satisfied.

Fasted 36 hours last week with no “cheats” - when I’ve tried EF in the past I’ve nibbled something, partly through boredom - and very quickly began to see my PCOS pooch (semi-affectionate term for my rounded lower belly) reduce. I’m guessing it’s a bit of inflammation in that area (gut and reproductive system being sat right next to one another) which starts to calm down when I’m not aggravating it with food.

Was hoping to go longer but friends asked me over for an impromptu film night and I didn’t want to miss it so I broke my fast early in order to not feel yuck when I put “real food” through my system.

Felt pretty rubbish at hour 24 ish. A bit nauseous and very tired. Made up and sipped slowly on some Snake Juice and am convinced it helped, so that’s a lesson learned!

I’m away with work at a conference this week, so will be trying OMAD at breakfast. Easy to keep LCHF (my preferred WOE) as it’s continental style with cheese, ham, yoghurt etc.

Currently on track to finish my 5 day fast tomorrow afternoon =)

I’m really glad to have bared through it as I started university this week and it’s been more difficult socially.

I’ve also been on a bit of a binge this summer and am glad to be back on track to my goal weight.

Thinking of breaking the fast with a hard boiled egg (maybe an avocado) and small chicken breast and veggies.I’m just excited to eat again as it’s been boring not doing anything, hopefully in the future I can do more exercise whilst on my extended fast other than simple yoga and walking.

Hope everyone is doing well xx
