Weekly Fasting Check-In

Starting a 7 day fast (coffee/water/tea) today. The past week I’ve done two cycles of 48:24 (fasted for 48 hours, ate for 24). I was going to keep up this modified IF schedule for another week or so but decided to just jump on in.

So day 1 of a 7 day fast. I’m about 7 hours in and feeling pretty great. Did a quick workout this morning, have a longer one planned for later today, am one coffee in and currently drinking my first 16 oz of water.

Been doing ADF (36 hour fasts 2 to 3 times a week) for a couple weeks now, IF 20:4 before that. Today I wasn’t as hungry so pushed through the 36 hour fast, now at 44 hours and counting.

I’m doing this mainly to hit a goal weight for a bet challenge. I’m at 140 right now and 0.4lbs away so I may keep fasting until I make it.

Brand new to fasting, my husband has been doing it for a while but always when he’s away at work (works FIFO) and it’s inspired me to give it a go. Started at 10pm last night so almost 24 hrs in. The real test will be resisting when I cook my daughter dinner! Aiming for 48 hours but will be happy to reach 36 on my first go.

Starting a fast! Last meal was 9 pm last night, aiming for 60 hours but not going to beat myself up about it. Going to break with keto and try to stay keto this weekend and do another fast next Sunday night—Wednesday night.

Started a 10-day water fast today. I haven’t been able to get back into the swing of longer fasts all year. I’ve tried multiple times but can’t make it past few days. This is it though. I have to do this now. The motivation’s back so now I just need to power through the low points. Remember the highs….

After struggling through a few weeks of weirdly timed hunger, I’m finally back into my regular 18:6 / 20:4 cycles! I don’t know what went wrong but holy cow, all I could think about was food!

Now that I’m back on track, I am hoping that by mid August I’ll be ready to adding extended fasting again.

I’m going to use my new My Fast app to structure some 36-hour and 18-hour fasts.

I’m trying to keep stress hormones down, so I don’t focus on long fasts for right now. If I fast too long, cortisol goes up, sleep goes down, then cravings go up.

Today I’m fat fasting to settle some cravings (again). I’d love it to be a fasting day since it’s a holiday for me, but I can feel that I need to relax some more first.

29 hours into a water/coffee/tea fast of unknown length. Have been stalled at 138-140 for about 8 weeks. Hoping to fast until I see 135 on the scale, might go longer depending on how I feel! Not hungry but man Costco sure smelled good just now. Hopefully I can break this plateau. Bonus is a lake party this weekend so maybe the ol bikini will look a little better on the bod. Planning on doing spring cleaning to distract myself.

I am 83 hours in right now. Trying to decide if I want to stop at 10 days or go for 20. I’ve never gone this long before, but I pretty regularly do IF and/or OMAD so it hasn’t been a hard transition so far. The only issue I can really see is my SO, he knows I am fasting a bit this week but I haven’t said anything about it being extended. He doesn’t even like it when I do IF! I feel like if I said I was going for 10 - or heaven forbid, 20! - he might really be concerned. We live together, so it’s not like I can just not disclose. How have anyone else in a similar situation broached this topic?
