Weekly Fasting Check-In

Are you starting a new fast this week? We'll be posting this thread every Sunday, at the beginning of every calendar week, so you can check in and tell us about your plans for a fasting this week!

Hiya. I just broke a fast 66 hours in. Initially I was planning on going for 88 hours, but after going back and forth between hunger waves and intense cravings for the past 18 hours, I gave in. Not beating myself up, just realizing that sometimes it’s not a terrible idea to stop pushing yourself. What’s interesting, is that just last week I had finished a full 5 day fast, breezing through. This week I struggled to get to 66 hours. So, what gives? And then, as fate would have it, I stumbled upon a Ted talk on the influence of the menstruation cycle on dieting. Some weeks will be way more difficult than others, and it might be a good idea to let it go sometimes. Might be obvious to some, but this was a revelation for me. Just thought I’d share my experience in case someone is being too hard on themselves. Keep on keeping on!

Hey Girls! Wanted to check-in. I can’t believe it’s only been a week since the last checkin, it seems like it’s been a lot longer.

I’ve mainly been doing 20:4 and 22:2 Intermittent Fasting. It’s been nice being able to eat whatever I want (within 1200cals). I mainly do one meal and a snack/dessert, and will stretch my window the full 4 hours if I want to have a glass of wine a little later. I’ve gone to 2 family parties and have been successful at not eating outside my feeding window which has been pretty empowering! Though, I’m not sure if I stayed below my calorie limit. Which brings me to my weight lost… I’ve only lost 2lbs, which does fit in with my current weight loss plan (2lbs a week at 1200 calories). I think since my 1st week I lost almost 4lbs, I was hoping I would continue the momentum. But I’m losing weight so that’s what really matters! I think my goals for this next week will be to make it down to 188.5lbs, try to be more concious of the calorie amounts I’m eating, and continue to stay on track with my 20:4 IF schedule. Thanks for giving me a place I can be accountable and good luck to the rest of you with your fasting journeys!
