Hey you started a day before me :). I did 16:8 my first day but changed it to 18:6 so that i could break my fast right on my lunch break. Been doing 18:6 since the 2/3/23.
As of last Sunday I dropped about 6 pounds and am at 169.8 with a starting weight of 176 before IF. While fasting I found how important it is to stay hydrated, what I like to do is drink two big cups of water after waking up (33oz.) and then more water throughout the day while fasting.
You and me are at about the same pace with weight loss. This past Sunday I started doing calisthenics exercises at home and already seeing shoulder and arm muscle definition and more vascular forearms. No gym membership.
It fights off brainfog and curbs hunger if any because thirst and hunger often get confused. Theres one day Ive stuck with doing a 20 hour or more fasting and thats Friday into Saturday but did find it difficult to eat enough within 4 hours.
My diet is no meat, no alcohol and been sober now since August, very little rice, some bread and pastas, seafood yes cause Im pescatarian and eggs too.
I really do stick with the If It Fits Your Macros style diet, definitely focusing on consuming enough protein firstly and everything else just tends to fall into place. I tried to do bodybuilding years ago for fun and got into pretty good shape and the one thing that stuck with me is the IIFYM style of diet because it can be so flexible.
