I started a 5 day dry fast this week. I’m on hour 40. My original plan was a 5-7 water fast but I want the better autophagy and fat loss of a dry.

SW: 185.6 (evening 3/27/22)

Ramadan (muslim holy month of fasting) starts this Saturday! I, and a billion other adult Muslims worldwide will observe a dry fast from dawn til sundown!

We also fast from sexual intimacy, smoking, and other things such as cursing, backbiting and other spiritual things.

For me (in Germany) it will be from 6am to 8 pm, roughly 14 hours ☺️

I don’t know if it fits in the thread, but if any of you do dry fasting, and you happen to have a Muslim coworker or friend, maybe tell them about it, and I’m sure they’ll be happy to invite you over for iftar (breaking of the fast in the evening which is typically celebrated with the whole family) and discuss the benefits of fasting with you!
