I just finished my first 72h dry fast. I feel pretty good mentally and physically, but I can tell I’m moving slower, and not feeling as strong as usual. I’m going to push it until tomorrow morning and will most likely break my fast then.
I started at 195.3lbs, 33.5% body fat. Today at about 84h fasted I weighted in at 185.3lbs 30.8% body fat.
My plan is to do 7 days total fasted; 72h dry, break with snake juice and then either finish the week that way (or, preferably, hop into another 3 or 4 day fast to finish out the week. I find dry fasting easier than water fasting.)
I worked out day 1 and day 3 and I saw the most weight loss (somewhere between 3.5 -4lbs) on 3.
Day 1 I walked on a tread mill for 1h, no incline, at a comfortable pace. Day 3 I walked for 1h as well but on an incline for the first half an hour. My heart rate was going up faster than usual, so I slowed down, dropped the incline and continued to walk at a comfortable pace with no incline for the last half of the workout.
Two questions for the more experienced dry fasters:
How do you usually break your longer dry fasts? And what are signs you look for to know it’s time to stop your dry fast?
Thanks!
