Day one is always the hardest with hunger pangs. Day two is a breeze, I don’t think about food at all. Day three, I want to eat because I miss the activity. I have not gone further than 72 hours as a result.
Absolutely. The first time I did an extended fast, days 3 and 5 were absolute hell with the flu like symptoms from the ketosis. I was allowing myself to drink bullion and I no longer do that. I make myself electrolyte water and have added a potassium supplement as well. REALLY helps. And I take powdered magnesium in water at night to help with sleep.
Day 1 is my worst, I have to keep myself really distracted and I hate going to bed hungry. Day two is better and I don’t want to loose the momentum of day 1 so I persevere, day 3 is always better, my ketone strip and scale give the impression I accomplished something/passed the first milestone, I’m not hangry anymore and it’s fairly smooth sailing from here.
Day 2 afternoon kills me, especially if I was eating/drinking garbage before I started. I usually start feeling bad again afternoon of Day 4, so I rarely push past that. I figure I hit the HGH, autophagy, etc. benefits, why suffer?
Mentally day 1 is always hardest for me because I “haven’t started” so really easy to tell myself to have one last pig out and start tomorrow..But once I’m through that day 2 is usually pretty easy, it was yesterday for me (after a few weeks of failed starts), and I went for a light jog and then a sports training.Day 3, today, I usually find hard and sat 4, ketos are going up up up and have little energy.Normally day 5 and 6 are when I’m at my best
