What high sugar/carb item can you just not give up?

I love hot chocolate. Getting to drink it is one of the exciting parts of breaking my fast. Interestingly, it might actually be getting too sweet for me the longer I continue fasting (OMAD). Maybe I should try a lower sugar version? Anyone have any delicious hot chocolate brands they recommend?

I don’t have a sweet tooth and rarely eat sweets unlessss we are talking about sugary drinks haha. Hot chocolate, yes. Pina coladas, yes. I figure since I skip the candy, might as well get the real thing when it comes to things I actually really enjoy. 😋

Something that you might give a try, if you have a coffee maker, is Crio Bru. Roasted cacao beans that work just fine in a standard coffee maker (and probably in things like a French press) that gives that chocolate flavor; you could probably give it a splash of heavy cream or blend in some coconut oil if you’re doing keto.

As for my personal nemesis, I have struggled with the Snickers peanut butter bars.

We use a packet of hot chocolate premix and 4T unsweetened cocoa in a 20oz teapot. It’s very chocolatey and not so sweet. Try mixing your own hot chocolate - cocoa powder and sweeteners, milk/water to taste.

Funny thing about intermittent fasting is I never cared for sweet stuff. But with my sugar levels being depleted by IF, I find myself really tempted by cookies, chocolate etc which I never thought about before the diet.
