What is the hardest for you?

Hi everyone, I am doing some research and was interested in hearing from you. What is the hardest part for you when it comes to intermittent fasting?

Answer

the entire time, the hardest part for me has been not eating too much when the window opens and I can eat.

Not eating eventually becomes easy. Not panicking about being hungry eventually becomes easy. But when you’re allowed to start putting food in, the desire to just shovel it in is the hardest part.

The hardest for me was dealing with the hunger when I first started. My stomach would growl and it would get pretty uncomfortable. But I’m about six weeks in and have found it better every day as my body adjusts. For instance, my stomach just growled, but I have a few more hours before my window, and I know the feeling will be gone in a few minutes. In fact, it’s been so much better that I did a 24 hour fast Thursday - Friday. I was shocked at how easy it was! I started out at 16|8 but now I’m comfortable at 18|6 - 24 most days.

ETA because I hit return too quick lol: I had done a lot of mental work around losing weight and waiting until I was hungry before eating when I found IF. I don’t think I could have done it without that. I was ready to take the next step.

I’m very good at restraining during my fasting time on my own, but if anyone was to offer me food or if I was to go to someone’s house and they’re devoring cookies, I will join in. My sweet tooth is also a big weakness, but as there’s nothing in my house it’s only when I’m out with other people.

It’s also very hard when I’m feeling hopeless and having a “What’s the point of it all?” day. Where my initial thoughts is to comfort myself with food, but I can’t. It’s hard not to give in
