What made you start IF?

Why did you choose IF? What were your driving factors to start and stick at it?

Answer

Getting on the scales and realizing I’m heavier 5 months post partum than I was during pregnancy. I ate my feelings due to traumatic birth and baby’s NICU stay. Now I want to be healthy to be a fun, lively mom with the energy to run after baby 😊

Answer

My Dr. told me I was pre-diabetic and I should start dealing with it by losing some weight, although I wasn’t hugely overweight. My family lifestyle doesn’t lend itself to dieting per se, so when I learned of IF it sounded like the thing that would work based on a period some years back where I lost 12 lbs over a month when I had cut back how much I was eating (for reasons). I started IF at the beginning of the year and so far it’s been the right choice as I am down 25 lbs since that Dr. visit and hit my goal weight 2 days ago.

Answer

My fat pants were getting uncomfortably tight, so I had to do something. Heard about IF from some people whose opinion I respect and decided to give it a try.

Also I tried regular CICO before. It works I hated doing it, always felt like I was depriving myself.

Answer

Grew out of clothes sizes that are readily available in stores.

I’ve never had any luck succeeding with diets for weight loss. The times in my life I’ve lost weight, it has been the result of excessive amounts of daily physical activity for months at a time.

IF looked promising and I’ve been able to maintain and/or lose a little regardless of activity level. When I add in even moderate activity, my losses seem to happen quicker.

After 8 weeks, I’m at my lowest weight in 2 years and right at pre-COVID lockdown weight. That progress and next minor goals help me keep going. Next goals for me are fairly close with getting under “morbidly obese” categorization and my lowest weight in 4 years.
