Sounds like an if it fits your macros style of dieting. IIFYM. Its still good to stick with whole foods because they tend to be less calorie dense yet higher in nutrients and better for you. A.K.A. the bro foods….chicken, broccoli, sweet potato, fruits, stuff like that. It allows you to do just like you say treat yourself to the things you like here and there.
I do this style of dieting too, just kinda tougher on the wallet cause I havent improved my cooking skills and it can cost a decent amount buying ready made foods at the supermarket or take out.
I used to practice bodybuilding for fun years ago and this IIFYM style of dieting just stuck with me cause it made sense, really tuning how much proteins, fats and carbs the body is getting will vary how it affects a person though because we are all different and alot of it is trial and error. Anyways just glad to share some story time and some experiences.
Been doing IF since 2/2/23 and am at 167.8 pounds from a starting weight of around 176 pounds, 18 hours fasting and 6 hours eating most days of the week, some workdays become sub 20 hours or more of fasting if it gets busy and my eating window just gets shortened, and I do one scheduled 20 hour fast Friday night till 2pm Saturday regardless if Ive done two 20 hour fasts during the work week and then Ive got like a four hour or less eating window and thats usually quite the meal.
