In regards to hormones - I was told by a bariatric surgeon that if your body is over-producing the hormone ghrelin (which signals to your brain that you’re hungry) that you’re basically screwed because you can’t win against your brain being flooded with hormones telling it you need to eat. This completely rocked my world as I thought it was just all down to lack of discipline or some kind of compulsive eating disorder. But the reality is often that your hormones are out of whack.
I’ve found I lost the most when I was eating less carbs and keeping 20:4 schedule. I’ve noticed I get varying redo throughout my cycle but I haven’t monitored it. I also use non hormonal birth control (copper IUD) because I’ve always suspected it adds to weight.
Calories in/calories out. The best way for me to manage my calorie intake has been OMAD, which has drastically reduced my cravings for junk and processed food (which I was eating too much off, and affecting my goals).
There really is no magic trick. You have to find out the best way to manage your calorie intake, whether that is fasting, eating many small meals throughout, doing low/high carb, or burning more calories. Every person has preferences and schedules that makes one method more realistic and effective than another.
The past two months have been learning months for me about my body. I read a book and it said that most disease derives from Vitamin, Nutrient, or Hormone deficiency, Candida, or Acidic PH. The biggest thing I did to help was fighting and learning about Candida, anyone who has ever been on a anti biotic or birth control has candida and it controls your mind and cravings like the book invasion of the body snatures lol
