When I started about 45 days ago the weight dropped very fast. Mostly what I noticed daily was that my stomach was getting flatter! In two weeks it was noticeable smaller. That was the biggest motivation for me. I’ve done two 48 hour fasts. I have lost 20 pounds in 45 days. I can’t wait to lose the next 20 pounds.
First time doing if: early 2018ish - i cant remember the exact weight i was losing but i was already pretty fittish (ok not fit. But 85lbs less than i am now and worked an active job and hiked weekly plus played rugby)… i remember loving how easily it fit into my life. I had a job with the same lunch break times so my eating window was 12-8 which meant i ate lunch at work and dinner at home and then slept.
Then i got a job doing constructionish work. Breaks were sporadic and i couldnt maintain a specific schedule. The work was harder physically, but less consistent in motions so i was hungrier and ate at my lunch time. I packed on maybe 15 lbs from my lowest at 174.
Then i went back to school in jan 2019. Then quit my job in march. Gained from 190ish to 220ish. And in december 2019 started if again. In 1 month i was down to 199. Oh man things were great.
Then my ex husband told me he didnt love me (i was fasting during this - did an unintentional 5 day fast and felt like garbage). And then covid happened. I just gave up. Mentally i was at my worst. Physically i didnt care.
Nowish - december 2021 ‘ 2 years later. I weighed myself at my highest. 260lbs. No wonder im slugglish, my clothes dont fit. I huff and puff walking and my belly gets in the way of normal things… here i am again.
If and exercise are the only things that work for me. Im getting a cheapo indoor bike to ride and will start increasing exercise from zero to daily as of tomorrow. :) i set up a weekly weigh in and a weekly measure in to track progress. Heres hoping number 4 is the last. Do or do not. There is no try.
I realized i was doing IF all my life intentionally, mostly because i never eat breakfast, currently bulking on omad so i am not doing it for the purpose of losing weight, but i am sure by staying consistent and giving it time the weight will eventually come off (and ofc, you have to be in a caloric deficit for that to happen)
