Where to start?

What advise/tips/pitfalls would you give to someone wanting to start IF but feeling overwhelmed by where to start?

Download the ZERO fasting app, set it to 16 hours - GREAT! That will leave you 8 hours for meals. I started by skipping breakfast and having just lunch and dinner. While fasting only consume water, black coffee (add a tiny tiny pinch of salt if it’s too bitter) and seltzer waters like La Croix or polar.

Try your absolute hardest not to snack in between meals.

Overtime you’ll increase your fasting window 16/8, 18/6, 20/4, OMAD, 36 or 42s etc.

Start out on a nice and easy 16:8 fast by not eating breakfast before work. Next, incorporate the 16 hour fast on the weekends. Think “baby-steps.” Then repeat the 16 hour fast for a year to make it stick. Then move to OMAD or stick to 16:8. Either way, resting your GI tract for longer is more healthy than eating throughout the day.

I did 16:8 for about 3 years before starting OMAD. Just get started and work your way up until you are satisfied.
