Why Doesn't ADF outperform CR?

Looking mostly at fat loss but let's say you are eating 2k calories a day to lose 1 pound a week or whatever, and then doing zero-cal ADF, based on the studies out there it seems weight/fat loss mostly the same? ADF 3x a week would be an extra 6k calories not coming in vs standard CR, can't see why you wouldn't lose more weight there....but studies do not seem to support that. Anyone aware of studies that show the fat/weight loss benefit(s)?

Answer

This showed ADF with CR worse than CR alone:

> One possible explanation for the differences in fat loss between the CR and ADF+CR groups is a change in physical activity. The investigators observed significantly reduced physical activity in the ADF+CR group, which they primarily attributed to reduced spontaneous light- and moderate-intensity movements. No such reduction was observed in the other two groups.

Key point they were already lean, but every group lost weight.
