part of this is why i think a lot of people find success incorporating fasting into a ketogenic diet on feed days. that insulin bouncing up and down and carb cravings certainly decrease over time on keto. Depending on the person it takes a few days to several weeks on keto to really kick the cravings. As always, keto is not a required lifestyle to incorporate regular fasting though.
on top if it, ADF style fasting is probably one of the more difficult ones to maintain though (imo) one of the most effective ones. Its difficult because you essentially go through the hardest part of fasting each time which is typically most of day 2 in my experience. But its effective because the body isn’t being deprived of nutrients for too long (particularly protein), which should lead to better lean mass retention and a more consistent and gradual weight loss.
I liken it to cold showers. It doesn’t get *easier* to take cold showers every day. But you become more used to the sensation and know what to expect.
