Why so much hate for dry fast?

I am part of many fasting communities and they even ban posts regarding dry fasting saying it's a dangerous form of fasting etc... So I just want to know why there is so much hatred towards dry fasting.

Answer

people think it’s dangerous. they’ve been brainwashed to think that we can’t survive without water for more than 3 days.

but DF is the shit. even if you start a WF with DF for even 24-36 hours it’ll help your WF.

Honestly, I’d like to know more about dry fasting and how safe it is.

I have been doing dry fasting for religious reasons once a month for most of my life.

I did my first dry fast in almost 6 years a few days ago. I’m struggling with some autoimmune issues and dry fasting felt like the only option.

I stayed in bed most of the day but when I ended the fast (36 hours or so) with a sip of water my symptoms were improved.

Fasting communities enforce using electrolytes as it is safer. It for me resembles a state where a human can behave like he does when not fasting. Example easily being physically active. One can become like a camel that can easily carry more water as electrolyte intake makes it possible.

That is why water only fasting without electrolytes and dry fasting are not in the list. These are harder to make right. So for example being low in electrolytes and drinking lots of water at once does flush electrolytes away, this is dangerous. Pacing water intake for small mouthfuls will save electrolytes.

When mammals hibernate(/“dry fast”), they basically build lots of fat and nest and then go to hibernation. It can take weeks to achieve full hibernation, depending on the mammal species. This is mainly resting state.

Certainly adapting to these different fasting states makes it easier to do all sorts of things.

Most of these people have self destructive habits like eating junkfood between fasts, doing drugs and drinking alcohol. They’re not qualified to grandstand about what’s good and bad for you.

What it really boils down to is that they see dry fasting as “difficult”, so they demonize it to feel more comfortable about the fact that they can’t do it. The funny thing is that dry fasting is extremely easy when your body becomes accustomed to it, especially if you’re not addicted to carbs like the overwhelming majority of people in Western society are.

Answer

Maybe because dry fasting is dangerous if not done carefully. Someone who’s never fasted in their whole life cannot do a 3-day dry fast safely. The body needs to be slowly woken up to the wonders of dry fasting. We need to keep that in mind and educate people.
