Just don’t bring it up to people if you don’t want to deal with the input. I watch my calories, don’t eat processed & do IF, no one knows. I don’t care about anyone elses opinion, so zero reason to bring it. If I’m offered something that I don’t eat/before/after I’ve started fasting, I just politely say no thank you
She’s insecure or ignorant about the subject. I find it best not to share with people especially if they are unhealthy because convincing them of the benefits is pointless. Not eating can be scary for those people. Had an obese boss, and overweight co worker telling me not to fast because it actually makes the body store more fat. That was the end of me discussing my diet with work people lol.
Gotta give it your all to find out if it actually works right? Definitely don’t know, what you don’t know, and listening to doubters will never get you closer to finding out if it works for you. I applaud your willingness to even try fasting, and say give it a couple weeks before you make up your mind.
A lot of people like the morning fast since you get to add on all those hours you were sleeping, and just see how long you can push it before you need some food. I started off in 2018 doing this 18/6 eating 12pm-8pm or 2pm-10pm. Now I don’t fast at all because I’m trying gain weight haha.
Tldr don’t let doubt stop you from fasting🤟🏼
There’s a lot of woo out there in the nutrition and dieting world - A LOT - and for many people fasting equals starving. If you value their opinion then take time to explain, if you don’t then let it go. As RuPaulSays unless they are paying your bills, pay them bitches no mind.
Doesn’t know what she is talking about.
Some people mess up terribly on a juice or water fast and utterly f themselves up, that word fasting gets very loosely associated.
Yeah if you’re strictly liquid fasting and you don’t know what you’re doing you could kill yourself like shane warne did (not knowing about electrolyte supplementation on a liquid fast), but if you’re eating even at least once a day properly your digestion and metabolism will all remain quite safe.
Its people who venture unprepared into very dicey territory, 2, 3, 4 days without food, without education, who get fasting a bit of a bad rap in the minds of those unfamiliar with the practice.
Ignorance. Humans have been “intermittent” fasting for most of our history. Granted, this wasn’t by choice and not to lose weight. Our bodies are adapted to go longer stretches without eating. (Longer than 3 meals a day)
Everyone has an opinion on fasting but no one opens their mouth as your gaining weight and sweating walking up steps. I don’t listen to their thoughts. They weren’t worried about my health at 343 lbs. don’t be concerned now.
I thought it was bad before I got desperate that I can’t lose weight anymore, and I read up about it. Now I look back to last year when I told my adult son he needed to eat something before going on a hike. In my defense, he was not specifically fasting with a plan and he was struggling to get up that hill with no breakfast. But I feel bad for telling him to eat. Now I’ve been doing rolling 42s for a month. I’m finally losing some weight (18:6 wasn’t enough). And my adult daughter is accusing me of following fad diets, having an eating disorder, and triggering her. For people who haven’t walked in your diet shoes, who haven’t read up on this, it sounds contrary to everything they’ve ever been told that’s “healthy.” They don’t get it.
So many people equate fasting with starving yourself. Most people have no idea what starvation even looks like. Fasting is not bad for your body unless you’re like a type 1 diabetic for example and your BS levels are low and dropping, then it’s bad for your body.
