Just completed my first fast - 48 hours. Had a slight headache, probably from less caffeine, and I was hungry, but otherwise felt pretty good. I took the recommended electrolytes from the Wiki. Lost 6 pounds.
Going forward I’m going to try this schedule of eating, at least until I lose a lot of weight.

Hi, I’m back!
Starting January 1st, I’m alternating a week of fasting with a week of keto OMAD, for weight loss and general health. My goal is to get under 200 pounds.
It’s day five of my THIRD seven-day, 168-hour fast of the year! 104 hours, 40 minutes in.
Over the hump and closing in on the final two days. Prilosec taken, and ready to cruise to midnight Sunday once again, with another seven-day fast under my belt!

I’ve been trying the 16/8 approach (sometimes 20/4, depending on the day) and found it really helpful to just not have to bring food to work + I seem to do really well lifting weights while fasted. Another major bonus seems to be food absolutely tastes so much better – like a delayed gratification bonus.
I’m not familiar with the other benefits like autophagic effects, but I’m liking everything I’ve been reading lately.
I’d like to consider some longer time frame fasting to enhance the supposed benefits from fasting, e.g. 2-3 day true fasts or partial (e.g. exceptionally low calorie, mostly fat)
Can anyone comment about extended fasting when you’re not doing it for weight loss (i.e. still eating maintenance or even slightly bulking) and the impact of doing temporary extended fasts, the benefits, how it impacts your bowels, etc? I’ve read it’s a decent thing to do a few times a year, just for the autophagic benefits.
