Length: 36 hoursStarted 12/1/21 at 7pm, goal end 12/3/21 at 7amWhy: I’ve been eating unhealthily and fallen into the habit of eating often throughout the day. Fasting rebalanced my metabolism. So far: I’m 17 hours in and feeling ok. Hours 19-26 are always hard for me as I usually exercise and have down time. I’m planning on sewing and playing the keyboard during my down time this time.
Length: 70 hours.
Why: Weight loss and heart health.
Notes: just finished my first 70 hr fast and felt great. I could have gone another 24 but had the first family meal this week. I refed on Steak and some Kerry gold cheese. Trying to establish a Keto OMAD routine from here on but may just fast 72 each week. Any thoughts?
Length: 14 hour goal, 12 hours in
Type: Intermittent fasting - calorie-free liquids (water, propel, caffeine)
Why: Weight loss, first fast in a long long while. Planning to reduce eating window gradually in hopes to work up to a mix of IF and OMAD. Have not given thought yet to longer fasts, but maybe eventually.
Notes: Gnawing hunger but I know it will pass. First few days of IF are the toughest; once I’m over the hump later this weekend and into next week, we’ll be rocking and rolling!
126 hours into my ~175 hour fast ( slightly over seven days). This week I’m oncall, in the week before my period, and not sleeping well at all so the weight is barely budging. Frustrating, but I expect to see it free fall next week once my period starts and I’m getting enough sleep again.
I plan to fast until Saturday and then go right back into another fast on Sunday until next Friday or Saturday, depending on how my next Friday plans come together.
I’m off-call tomorrow at noon and I legit can’t wait. I’m so exhausted. I have a feeling tomorrow night I’ll be asleep right at the end of my work day and not get up until late on Saturday.
84 hours into my first fast. I feel okay today, but after the headaches on Monday and Tuesday and the leg cramps yesterday I’m paranoid wondering which ailment I will discover today lol.
Water, multivitamin, and fish oil to help with fat soluble vitamin absorption, as well as a couple grinds of salt to keep electrolytes.
I intend to go until Monday without anything else but then I’ll add coffee and broth. When I do start eating again, it will be intermittent + keto but I’m going to see how long I can last before breaking the fast. Cravings are pretty hard to battle
I was going through some bad stuff and have been binge eating non stop for teh past 3 days. I used to do 22:2 IF, and went from 106kg-86 in about 11 months. But now I’m back to 92. I really want to do a long term fast( my previous longest was 84 hours) but everyone around me keeps trying to make me eat( they literally bring food and try to shove it in my face) even into like a 16h fast. Normally I have no issues, but around 72h it gets really hard trying to resist. My parents are the worst(ik they think they’re helping me) because they keep making my favorite food. Moving out isn’t an options/not really a thing where I live. Does anyone have any tips on how to do a long term fast(at least a week)? (I take electrolytes and hydrate, etc). It’s the smell of food that’s gets me. I usually watch mukbang videos while fasting they don’t do anything. I always try to distract myself when i get hunger pangs, but it’s very hard when everyone around you is trying to make you eat
Feeling like a bad flu
I started a 24 hour fast from dinner to dinner and started feeling achy, flu like, headache and my resting heart rate is 75. (Normally 55ish.)
I kept taking my supplements Morning(6am): 10,000iu D3230mg Mag Malate200mg Theanine100mg Potassium 100mg Ubiquinol
Mid day I took 2000mg vitamin c
Night (4:30)10,000 D w/ vitamin K400mg Mag Glycinate 100mg Potassium 650 Ashwaganda 15mg zinc w/ 200mg selenium
I just drank herbal tea through the day up until dinner.
For dinner I had some raw cauliflower and broccoli. And a palm size amount of smoked salmon. I immediately went to bed and felt terrible. Electrolytes came to mind so I had a bone broth soup with some extra salt. This seemed to help some, but my heart was still beating fast.
I slept 9 hours. My heart rate variability dropped from 78 to 43, with my resting heart rate at 68 from 55.
My blood glucose after 2 gulps of kombucha and a ratio yogurt this am was 115 and ketones were .3Before dinner it was 84 and 1.2. My blood pressure is 139/78.
Waking up this morning, I don’t feel as bad, but still achy, light headache and heart beat at 70 resting. If I walk around the house it jumps to above 100.
Any guesses on what wrong?
