I’m currently about 9 hours into my 2nd of 20 planned rolling fasts! The plan is 60 hours fasting, 12 hours of eating, water/zero calorie solutions only, and I feel great! :)
I got really tired of the 40 or so Lockdown-Pounds I’d put on over the past two years, and decided I wanted to get back into the swing of healthy habits and weight loss before the new year. It’s not much yet, but I’m feeling confident and energized again, which is worth it in and of itself!
Insights? Hmm. I guess my first fast was a reminder of just how weird time gets when you haven’t eaten in 3 days. Like, I’ll sometimes feel like, “This is 5 PM!” And then I check the time, and it’s 1:30, and I’ll remember that I didn’t take breakfast or lunch, because I didn’t have to, and now my work is done 3.5 hours earlier than usual, so I’ve got twice as much free time before bed than usual. It’s wild how much time and energy we dedicate to food prep and eating! Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but part of the joy of fasting for me is getting to wipe that entire set of tasks off my day if I want to. More time for other things!
