Almost 61 hours into 72 hour fast. Down 6.6 pounds of puffiness from 2 weeks of prednisone. This is also half a pound down from my previous low and broke through a month long plateau. The plateau was mostly due to a 3 week respiratory infection that left me unable to work out, plus all the meds.

Normally, my intent with 72 hour fasts is to address my strong family history of Alzheimer’s. This time, the motivation was to get the meds and bloat out of my system.

Plan to OMAD tonight because the 72 hour mark is on the late side for me, and go back to 20:4 tomorrow. Hoping I feel up to a few marathon sessions on the elliptical by the weekend.

I am doing rolling 4 day fasts (104hrs per week, really) and had originally planned for 6 weeks - this is the middle of the 7th week, and I think that I will just continue with 104hrs/week until I hit 165lbs (except for thanksgiving week). After that, I will scale back to 3 days a week until I hit my goal weight of 160. I’m guessing 2 days a week will be needed to maintain the weight loss.

The numbers showing on my scale starting at the end of week 2 had me somewhat baffled, but I have continued nonetheless because I definitely am seeing body changes in the mirror and feeling them in my clothes.

I’ll keep posting updates as I push through.

I’m on day three (62 hours in) of a 7 day fast.

Day 1 I felt fine, and just slightly hungry. Day 2 I felt rough all day, with a pounding headache, so I went to bed early and slept for 12 hours. Day 3 I’m feeling good, just thinking about food a lot!

I’m hoping to drop the weight that I picked up during the lockdown that hasn’t budged with calorie restriction & exercise (damn menopause!). The extra weight is causing me some knee pain in one knee, and some slight inflammation. I’m hoping this fast jump starts the weight loss, and gets me moving a bit better.
