  3. Finally starting OMAD today. I’m down 70ish lbs with 10ish to go. I put on a few lbs over the holidays and it’s time to shed that plus my last 10lbs. My partner and I are going to take a week off our social drinking and when we return, I’ll be fasting until dinner so going out won’t be such a hit on my calorie intake for the day. I really think this is the key so I can “have it all” and not have to sacrifice too much. Here we go!!

I’m fasting for 7 days for chronic illness caused by long covid. I’ve done a 5 days fast last month and it fixed my gut and helped with my vascular health last time. I am much more prepared this time and am willing to go up to 9 days if my body agrees. This will set me up for 6 months, so I won’t be doing another prolonged fast until then. Froze a gallon of homemade lentil soup for when I am finished with this 😋

Welp, I failed again. Right at the 48 hour mark just like [almost] always.

It did feel a little different this time, though. I felt like I had the willpower to go another day, but I was having trouble getting to sleep last night (typical when I’m fasting) and I have a busy day at work today, so I ate in order to get quality rest. I think I’ll just do two 48s per week for a while until work calms down, then I can attempt another longer fast when I can afford a little sleep deprivation.

Going for my first 72 hour fast today. Stopped eating at 6pm, hopefully won’t pick it up again until the same time Saturday. I’ve done 2.5 day fasts in the past. This time I’m armed with lite salt and magnesium citrate capsules, so I think it should go pretty smoothly. I was losing weight on a 16 hour IF schedule, but I hit a plateau in a big way. I’m trying extended fasting to try to break through that.
