Haven’t started yet but was going to start a 24 hour fast at 6 pm. I’ve read up on the benefits such as inflammation reduction, assistance with insulin issues, weight management, etc. I’m just interested in potentially making this a part of my life in order to be a healthier person. I’d argue I’m in good shape trending towards the muscular side but I’m probably 23-27 percent body fat so I’m not doing it because I’m obese…I would like to get leaner as the weather warms up though.

At present, on hour 44 of a 72 hour fast. Previous longest fast was 48 hours.
This is the first time I’ve used a high quality electrolyte powder and I’ve been pounding it down, along with loads of water.
For reference, starting weight was 208; current weight as of this morning: 205.4
Obviously mostly water weight, but that’s fine. My goal for the month was to get under 203 and am now adjusting to under 200 - just to hit it, even if it’s just mostly water I’m losing, etc.
I plan on re-feeding Sunday at 5pm with some bone broth, a small piece of protein, and some steamed veggies, then having a ‘normal’ day (ie: 2MAD) on Monday, before doing another 48 fast.
I’m liking the way my body is feeling, and the spiritual / mental health side of things. Eventually I’d like to get some kind of schedule going in perpetuity, where I fast for 48 hours once a week.
My overall goal is between 180-190 for 2023. Seems very possible :O
