I’m on day 17 of 21+. Honestly could use some motivation, I’m feeling down today and struggling with the mental aspect of fasting. The last week blew by, it was so easy I was considering trying for a month. But I went to dinner with my family last night and sat by and had unsweetened iced tea, I’ve been wanting food since. It makes no sense to me! I prepare food for my son daily but seeing other food killed me a little. Been cranky since. I meditated this afternoon and it helped a lot.
Day 9 of 21. Loading up on electrolytes and going to take a shot at a session with my personal trainer which I had scheduled prior to starting the fast. A bit worried about that - hopefully not too dead afterwards.
Adding in nutritional yeast (for B Vitamins) and some Zinc starting today as well.
228.8 -> 225.2 -> 223.2 -> 223.2 -> 221.2 last 5 days.
72hrs is the longest I’ve fasted before. I’ve just broken that and sitting at 89 hrs this morning. I was thinking of 5 days as a goal but my sleep last night wasn’t great and don’t feel any of the euphoria that people talk about.
I can deal with the hunger (which is still there) but looking for a good nights sleep. I’ll probably break tonight at an even 96 hrs
Last Friday, I finished a round of OMAD+Whole30 with a few 48 hour fasts tossed in.
On Monday, I restarted but am doing OMAD + Keto Whole30. Even it’s just been a few days, this is working for me already. Of course, good enough is never good enough, so I’m on board for starting at least a 48 hour fast. Would love to spread it to 72 or even 96!
I’m sitting at 170.4 pounds and I know it may be a long shot but I’m aiming for losing 6 pounds by Labor Day. With fasting, I know I can do it. And on Whole30 with carbs, I was losing 2-3 pounds a week. So mayyyyybe????!
Hello, I’ve done 24-96h fastings before, but without preparation. Now I’d like to do 72h fasting to get most benefits from it. How should I prepare, what to eat day before fasting and what to eat first after fasting? Thank you.
So I have noticed that the EF insomnia doesn’t affect my energy levels. I simply need less sleep when I am fasting. I will get a good 3 hours in, be awake for 2, and then sleep for 4 more and I am a-ok ready to go all day.
How do I break the mental barrier?
