Back on the wagon, I’ve been in and out over the last 4 years with a high of 240 and low of 167. I promised myself I’d never get back over 200 and I’ve been dangerously close the last couple of weeks so let’s go!
This week I’m doing two 48-hour fasts and I think this may be my new norm for the foreseeable future.
I fasted from Sunday night to Tuesday night, ate a nice dinner+grazed a bit and then have been fasting since, planning to break tonight.
⏳ Length of fast (ADF since 1/4/2022, going as long as I can stick to it, been doing 40/8)
❓ Why are you fasting? (Weight loss, other health benefits)
📝 Notes (It is going pretty easy so far, but there are times that I feel like what i’m doing is crazy once I actually break the numbers down.. I started this journey at 214.6lbs and now im \~206lbs. My maintenance calories are at 2293 per day, but i’ve been eating \~1890 every other day, which breaks down to 1080 calories over a 7 day span, this doesn’t sound healthy at all but I feel just fine. Macros are 40/40/20 Carbs/Protein/Fat.)
I attempted a very short 18:6 fast this past weekend but gave up because I felt so cold. I want to try again this weekend.
Very cold this past two weeks. Any advice?
Yes I wore layers, yes I drank water and electrolytes.
Just completed Day 5 and moving to day 6. Balancing electrolytes is a bitch. Drink less, you feel tired and drink more, you have loose motion. Hopefully I can achieve my 7 day target with no major issues. Fatigue and tired is the way I spend the whole day
I’m amazed at how my body has adapted so quickly to fasting again. I did ADF regularly last year but fell off around Sept/Oct (sometimes IF). I gained 10lb. On Jan 2, I decided to do rolling extended fasts (ranging from 60-90hr fasts). No issues with the fasts while still staying active. Stepped on the scale today and have lost that 10lb! (which is incredible as I’m on the shorter side!)
Ended my 5 day fast. I was aiming for much longer but I’d just like to thank this amazing sub for helping me break my fasting record. Lots of amazing memes, helpful people, everyone just being supportive. Back on it next week for a 6+ day fast! (gonna be a little more realistic with my goals this time :))
61 hours into a 72+ hour fast.
Mainly aiming for fat loss, but wouldn’t mind a bit of autophagy, immue boost, etc.
Feeling good, made a new electrolyte mix (no more Cream of Tartar, actual potassium chloride), definitely has helped with the squirts I’ve had in previous fasts….
3.5 kgs (7.7 lbs) down since the start of the fast, from 83.2 kg to 79.7 kg.
Not sure if I’ll push this one into a 4th day or not, see how I’m feeling this evening.
Starting a 7 day fast in the next week or so, this feels like a good practice run.
