I’m 36 hours into my fast. I gained about 40 pounds last year and I tried to lose it with CICO and exercise but I underestimated the number of calories I was actually taking in and ended up gaining more. I lost a bunch of weight in 2020 with fasting so I’m excited to hopefully reproduce the same results
Fasting for the purposes of autophagy and fat lass (6’2 @270 currently and down 10lbs after two weeks) is it still ok to consume coffee and tea, I’ve got a big box of bengal spice and plenty of coffee on hand.
Started last night, so far I’ve done 24hours and I’m feeling good but sadly didn’t drink enough water today.
Fasting for weight loss. Went from 118kg to 102kg in July before my wedding felt great then stopped. No exercise working from home, 3 isolation stints and a bout of depression later I’ve managed to gain it all back and more. Currently weighing 120kg.
I’m going to be supplementing with Na/K salt and an Oxo cube.
Then plan is to do rolling 6 day fasts until I’m back to 100kg. I’ve done it before and I just need to keep my head down and focus.
Hi all. I’ve been lurking on this sub for a couple of months.
I’m a 5’8” male, have been fasting on and off, probably 20 days distributed over the last two months. On fasting days I ingest electrolytes, 1.7L water, and about 500-600 calories.
In this time I’ve gone from 212.0 lbs to 203.0 lbs. I almost gave up the last week because I went from 203.0 to 203.4 to 203.2 over the course of 4 days or so. (Anybody else have this frustration?)
Looking back over a larger time horizon of 50 days though, fasting is clearly working for me.
The lesson I’m getting out of this? Body weight data is noisy!
I think I’m going to begin calculating a 10-day rolling average and try to focus on getting that number down, instead of worrying about what happens over the course of a day or two or three.
Doing a 36 hour fast. I had my last sip of liquid calories 16 hours ago (8:30pm), though my last bite of food 20 hours ago(4:30pm). Might split the difference and say its been 18 hours lol! Half way there by that measure. Doing it for longevity and health effects, though weight loss doesn’t hurt.
I’m following an irregular schedule that I hope is going to work for me. First, a 36 hour fast. Then, the day I break the fast, keeping calories moderate (at maintenance) for a 12 hour feeding window (e.g. 6:30 am-6:30pm), then the next day doing 18:6 (12:30-6:30), at which point at 6:30pm my 36 hour fast restarts. Then the 12 hour more moderate day. Finally, the last day of the week will be a free day for whatever eating schedule I feel like (most likely another 12) keeping all things moderate (but more “cheat day” like).
I’m doing school from home so I have a lot of flexibility and freedom to do this sort of thing. Keeps things interesting.
Hey guys. I finished my second rolling fast. First was 100 hours, second was 82 hours. I ate a meal that night about 1,100 cals. Second day I ate about 1400 cals and also did heavy lifting (was moving apartments, had a lot of heavy stuff fo carry), was going to start my third fast today but felt really hungry and decided to let myself eat. I ate eggs and toast and strawberries. Lunch time i had broccoli and pasta with lite mayo and tuna. I had some chocolate. I am craving bread. I had a latte which was like 130 cals. I ate so much and am STIL hungry. Is this normal? Today was sedentary. For record, I am female, 125 lbs and 4’11”.
