I’m Paula, a very overweight girl who wants to be fit because of health. I use to eat almost all day due to anxiety. Now I’m doing 12/12 fasting and it’s going great, but I have heard from people saying it doesn’t work at all. I can’t do more hours because of some meds I have to take. Is 12/12 fasting enough?

Hello again, everyone! After a week of keto OMAD, I’m back for another full week of fasting for the new year! My goal is improved metabolic health and weight loss. This will be my second seven-day (168-hour) fast of 2023, and I’m looking forward to it.
Due to an issue with being obsessive about the scale, I am not weighing myself for at least the first month, but I’ll be keeping track of my progress by the fit of my jeans and overall mood. And I have to say, I feel pretty good! More energy, very manageable hunger (thanks, keto!), and a great sense of well-being. Why don’t I always eat keto? I have to remind myself of how good I feel when on keto the next time I’m tempted with fries or fresh bakery bread.
I also have a burst of energy when I fast! I think seven days really is an ideal fasting period for me in this phase. That final day the buzz sort of wears off.
Anyway, happy to be back! 6 hours and 23 minutes into my fast.

Day six of my first ever extended fast. I kind of have it in my head now that the stop point will be 200 hours (so 8 day plus the overnight sleeping before fast started). Monday and Tuesday should be fairly easy based on my schedule, just need to make it through today.
