⏳ 16 / 120 hours (5 days) ❓ Weight loss (CW 320, GW <200)

📝 Instead of doing my traditional long fast at the beginning of the year, I’m start a 5 day fast routine– basically Sunday night until friday night. I’m getting married in october and I want to reach “onederland.” My dream would be to reach my ideal weight, but I’ll definitely need to tweak my strategy and work more on body composition as I get close. For now, I’m focusing on just getting my weight down. I was doing IF and keeping a good ketogenic diet through the end of september, and gained 10 lbs since then.

Answer

Now on day 8 of 12 of my 1 meal every 3 days cycle. Started at 175lb (full weight) and before eating yesterday I was at 159.5 (empty weight), which tied my lowest weight in 2021.

Doesn’t really feel difficult anymore. just have to fill up my time with activities so i don’t think about eating to fill the time.

Wednesday will be my last eating day of the cycle so 4 of the next 5 days are fasting then I’ll be able to post my first ever progress pics on this sub!

Accountability check-in - I did 18:6 all last week- going for 42:6 today/tomorrow. My goal is to get to rolling 72 ideally next week, but I’m just taking it slow and seeing what my body needs.

I have PCOS with Insulin Resistance and GI issues; because of this, I am strongly considering doing an Extended fast for autophagy and to give my gut a chance to heal. Right now just trying to build good fasting habits. I got my tea, black coffee, bone broth, and electrolytes ready to go.

Answer

I just finished my fourth 24h fast today.

I’m fasting for weight loss as well as the health benefits of autophagy.

I recently started doing a few night shifts at work and will be moving to a new unit soon where I will rotate between 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. Since night shift is known to greatly increase the incidence of health issues like hypertension and diabetes, I am hoping to continue to fast through my night shifts to offset the upset to my circadian clock. Wish me luck! :)

Approaching the 24h mark. 5’7 CW 231 pounds. Routine medical checkup revealed ik pre diabetic so have to change my lifestyle. I did keto before. Current plan is to do 24-72h fasts and do keto when I eat. Need to lose alot of visceral fat and get my blood sugar in check.

Hope it goes well.

15 hours into my first 5-day fast of the year. I lost \~90 pounds from November 2020-August 2021. I then moved to a new city and haven’t really caught my stride between snacks at the office, investing in relationship building with new friends (which often involves meals together) and just wanting to explore my new city. Gained a bit of weight back, but I’m not concerned because most of it would just be weight because I’m *not* fasting. Not because I suddenly gained all the weight back. My office is WFH again for the foreseeable future and I want to take advantage of being home to give me a leg-up on my goals :)

I’m an experienced extended faster and honestly prefer a fasted state– it saves me money, I lose weight, I feel good, and I don’t have to spend time cooking.

I’d like to lose 30ish pounds and can probably achieve that in just a few months if I stay focused. Over the summer of 2021, I did rolling 5-day fasts… fast during the week, eat without restriction on the weekends. For the first time in my life, I live near a beach and would like to get to a place (even though I’m already so much more confident than before!) where I don’t worry about the way I look in a swimsuit.

Anyway, planning to post here daily to keep me accountable as I catch my stride again!
