I need to drop about 15 more pounds, recently switched to a new protocol that I like a lot: alternate day fasting. 36 hour fast every other day. I’ve done several multi-day fasts but I think this is easier to stick to: Quit eating after dinner, don’t eat at all the next day, break fast the morning of the 3rd day, quit eating after dinner, wash, rinse, repeat. On eating days, try to get in a cardio session before breaking the fast. Stay between 1500-2000 calories and relatively low carb with around 100g or less. Focus on lean protein and veggies but make room for some small amount of junkier food. This plan is easier to move around for social events. I’m not too concerned about having two eating days in a row or something. Works for me 🤷‍♂️

Usually I fast for 20 hours. They make me feel awesome. What I like best is the feeling of not being a slave to food. I also like telling myself that I’m giving my digestive system a large amount of resting time instead of letting it work for many hours a day. The mental aspect of fasting feels great because each time I complete my 20 hour fast, I feel that sense of achievement and great self-discipline. I’ve completed 126 days of fasting and so far my body fat percentage has reduced by 10% and my visceral fat level went from a 6 to a 1.

Day 4 of a planned 7. I’ve done 4 before on a planned 5, but broke a day early. This time it’s easier. Should make 7 without a problem. Fasting for weight loss and the added health benefits. Keep on keepin’ on!

Answer

I wrap up my third 3-day fast for the month in 1.5 hours.

Have a visitor coming from out of town, so I moved my fast up a day so that I could still complete a full 3 days while still getting to eat dinner with them.

Definitely promote adjusting your fasting around your life rather than your life around your fasting.
