That feeling when you are just about done with day 7 of your fast and come to the sudden realization that you aren’t even a quarter of the way done just yet! Yikes! But I’m starting to feel more energetic and actually think I can make it to the end! Hype!
I planned a 75h fast but felt really depressed and sick so I stopped at 30h. 🥲 Had an ED for two years and all the negative thoughts and ACID REFLUX came back.
I think imma just stick to intermittent fasting, lift weights and do cardio for now. :))
About a month into a variety of fasting (18:6, 20:4, 22:2, OMAD, ADF) and my pants have gone from a relaxed size 14 to a slightly-tight size 10. I’m not using a scale, but I know what my starting weight was (from an office visit near that time). Good motivation to keep going.
Just started fasting today. I want to cut the fat in my body in December and start bulking muscle in January. Need to do an effective cut to get my body fat percentage under 20%. Using fastient app and tea to cut food cravings. Will keep on utilizing weights for training but will not focus on cardio.
Tomorrow I’m starting a 5-day fast. I have approx. 190lbs to lose. I have an Ecuador hiking trip planned next August, and I absolutely must get my fitness an eating under control in order to do everything I want to.
Another reason that I think fasting will help me, is I am on the spectrum and preparing meals takes soooo many of my spoons throughout the week. Meal prepping is hard for me because if I decide I don’t want to eat the thing I prepared, I absolutely will not eat it and will run for the nearest fast food joint or order delivery. Consequently I have spent exorbitant amounts of money on food that I do not even eat half the time.
My current plan is to fast on weekdays and do on meal a day on weekends. Then I have the caloric deficit and financial justification to eat absolutely whatever I want on those days–whether its a huge buffet of sushi or a bunch of boiled seafood–i should be able to afford it and still lose weight.
Wish me luck, I have never fasted this long before but I am motivated for change.
First day of a 5 Day Fast for me! Trying to end the year on a healthier note (Side note, how can it already be almost 2022!!)
I have pre-pandemic experience with extended fasting, but I’ve done only OMAD or 18/6 the last few years. My main goal is weightloss.
Good luck everybody!
on hour 20 right now, going for 67. Done lots of 48s but have been struggling for several weeks now. Started strength training several weeks ago and instantly felt more hungry. Gave in to some of it, got back on track—rinse and repeat. I have spent time in my life not watching any tv, and time watching tv. Right now is a time where I’m watching some tv once a week. My insight is that there is so much food on TV, the commercials. It’s well-produced marketing, baffling and disgusting all at the same time.
20:4 today (which will be my normal going forward from Wed-Sun).
Ready for my evening feast before a 48 hr water fast into Tuesday. Leaving some errands for the next couple of days to help me keep busy. I plan to do some light exercise and meditate each day.
I genuinely crave a balanced meal at the end of the day after a 20:4. Meat, veggies, maybe a carb like rice and potatoes. This is awesome.
