QUESTION
If I eat the same amount of calories for example 1200 calories, which would be better for losing weight faster. low carb calorie deficit 18:6 vs high carb calorie deficit 18:6? Would I lose the same amount of fat with low carb and high carb diet as long as I’m on a deficit?
Answer
Between 72 hour and 24 hour fasts, it’s been going well for three weeks. This morning I woke up voracious. I didn’t eat anything, but it’s jarring. I haven’t felt so hungry since day one. I feel like I’m starving (I definitely have fat to lose) and I don’t know what I did differently that has me so hungry upon waking up.
Gonna work on riding it out and see how I feel. Scales been going down so that’s solid motivation.

Fasting for weight loss.
Through covid and grad school I gained over 65 pounds that I really want to get off. OMAD wasn’t working at all (I can’t stop the binge at the end of the day) so I’ve made the rule of “Weekends and Wednesday evenings.”
This is week 2. Going good so far. Compared to when I did this fasting schedule a few years ago I’m doing a lot better. I discovered the value of salts!
