62 hours in now and must be experiencing some kind of fasting high, feel absolutely incredible and nailed a presentation I’d normally be super anxious about.

The 48hr mark was the toughest but definitely worth it, didn’t think I was going to make it but now it feels like I should breeze the next 28 hours.

19hrs in and I don’t know how long but maybe 24 to 48hrs. My body is so sensitive to carbs and for some reason I went semi crazy after my last fast, so my body is in maintenance mode instead of fat burning even though I’m definitely in a calorie deficit. Between jan 25 to now 5/7 of my meals were super carb heavy. “1 day won’t hurt, this is a lifestyle u must enjoy it” which is my new equivalent of “I’ll start my work out/eating healthy tomorrow”. So yeah I have to catch myself and return back to healthier eating because I’ll justify anything if I’m enjoying it lol.

I finished a 34 hours fast today and started feeling intense nausea soon after waking up. I tried to break fast as planned very carefully with some berries and couldn’t keep them down.

Same happened last week, same fasting length but breaking fast with a bit of banana. A short while after puking i can eat some toast and feel better, although still a bit weak. I supplement with a magnesium pill and some sodium but the fast is short, so electrolytes should be fine? Am I missing something?

I feel great during the fasting day but I cant continue with this if this problem persists, it wrecks my whole morning. Does anyone have similar experiences and can speculate about the most likely cause?

Edit: fasting for health reasons

85 hours into my four day fast, first two days were tough but by the third it’s been a piece of cake. I’m breaking tonight so does anyone have any tips on how to break fast softly? Current plan is a handful of nuts then a keto burger an hour or so later. attempting to stay producing ketones until fri

Just quit my planned 150h fast.Last time I fasted was 2 years ago and I was able to bear for 5 days. I thought this time it’ll be easier as I already had the experience and gained some weight over 2 years, so my body definitely has something to eat.

But nope, I guess “fasting muscle” also gets weaker if you stop training it :) This time was very much like my first time: severe headache on day 2, then complete weakness on days 3 and 4. Decided to quit as I was struggling to perform at work and also have a very rough day tomorrow, so my exhaustion won’t mess with tomorrow duties. Otherwise I would have tried to continue.

So, bone broth with egg yolks - here I go!

Finished my fast early this week. I was aiming for 60 hours but only made it to 45. Experienced some headaches even though I was getting my electrolytes and drinking plenty of water.

Started my period around hour 40 though and remember reading from this thread that it’s more difficult to fast before/during menstruation compared to after, so I figured that might be the cause of my struggles and decided to refeed. Only had one meal so far and am still suffering slight headache so not sure if it’s related.

This was only my second fast. Last year I did a method of only eating raw fruits veg first two days, then fast for three days, finish up with another 2 days of raw fruit and veg. I had a much easier go of it the first time, but planning to try a third time, just gonna keep a closer eye on my cycle next time around.

I’m on day four of a five day dirty fast. It’s been…weirdly fine. I think I was making the mistake (for my body, anyway) of doing 44h fasts, a couple of times a week, and as another poster mentioned, just going through the hardest days over and over again. So it has been easier, once I was past the 48h mark. It’s also the days I’m at work, so I’m busy, and only really have to get past any hunger I feel between getting home and going to bed.
