Day two of hopefully five. Fasting to relieve inflammation in my pancreas. I’m finding it hard to drink water on an empty stomach. I didn’t have this problem before I got my first pancreatitis attack but now I get nauseated unless I drink small sips. I have an easier time with the electrolyte mix. Hopefully this will get better as the days progress.

Just completed my 1st fast at a little over 22 hours.

My biggest take away was how relaxing it was not to be thinking about food all the time. As an athlete but also formerly morbidly obese individual, I’m always trying to optimize my nutrition. It was a nice break on the head not to think about my meal but also when I did eat, just not having to micromanage my intake as much. Wish I could have pushed it a little longer but I had some more intenser workouts planned. Maybe in the future I’ll do a longer fast.

I’m gonna start doing 16/8 again. I tried a few weeks in August, went alright, then life went to shit. I’m gonna start by skipping breakfast, and avoiding sweets and snacks. Sounds simple but right now there’s Christmas sweets all over the house.
